Like the waves of the Atlantic repeatedly hitting the shoreline, so the message to be patient was continually confronting me this week. I am wired to play the long game, slow and steady is my motto, but lately, outside pressures have gotten me out of my rhythm. I’ve been sporadic, restless, and irritable. So, I found the lesson to be patient to be a welcome message. The following are just two examples of how this message was heralded to me this week.
“Sometimes it takes ten years to get that one year that will change your life.” Unknown
“I am trying to teach my mind to bear the long, slow growth of the fields, and to sing of it’s passing while it waits.” Wendell Berry
What lessons did you learn this week? I’d love to hear them.
