Here's the 4th installment in our series entitled; 7 Self Improvement Tips for Small Business Owners.

Tip #4

Don’t worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.

Sherman Finesilver

Starting a business is hard.

Sustaining a viable business is harder still.

Most of us know it's hard. We’ve all read the statistics about how many businesses fail in their first 18 months and we agree those statistics are accurate, but we have started a business anyway. Despite the odds and the challenges we face we have stepped out to take the chance.

Why? Are we sadistic? Crazy? Unstable?

Perhaps, but more likely it’s because we realize life is short, and at the end of our days we don’t want to be confronted with the “what ifs!”

“What if I would have started that business?”

“What if I would have taken that job in Chicago?”

“What if I would have written that book?”

Mr. Finesilver got it! He understood people who are truly living are going to fail. He knew every idea isn’t going to work out.

He also understood that one’s life is so much richer, fuller, and more rewarding for taking the chance. No what ifs!

Maybe, you've been hesitant about starting a new venture because your focusing on the possibility that it won’t work out. It might not, but then again, what will you be missing if you never give it a chance? You may miss out on an amazing journey. It may lead to something beyond your current comprehension, but you'll never know if you focus on failing.

What could you be missing out on?
