I know this is true of me. Every time I start to hit the send button on a blog post or email I hesitate as I fight the fear that what I'm sending isn't good enough or no one will like the article and the readers will criticize, judge or even ridicule me, but fighting through the fear I hit send anyway.
Each time I start to record a video my self-critic shouts out, "Who do you think you are? You have nothing important to say!" and I hit record any way.
Whether it is a critic from the crowd or the critic inside your head, we all have to face the fact that we will be criticized, or more profoundly stated, "Haters are gonna hate!"
So, what do we do about that?
Well, the way I see it we have two choices, we just stop trying or we accept the fact that critics will criticize us and do it anyway.
I doubt that I will ever get to the place where I am not concerned that I will be criticized, but I am at the point where I won't allow that criticism to stop me from creating or doing. What about you?
