5 Lessons I Learned This Week

Today is officially the last day of summer, but you can’t tell it by the weekly forecasted temperatures — afternoon highs in the mid-nineties with no rain in sight. Still, there are other clues pointing toward fall's arrival, the local children have returned to school, THE Ohio State Buckeye's football team are dominating their opponent in “the shoe,” and the wiener dog races sponsored by the Woeber Mustard Company fill my Google Calendar.

One final indication that fall is near is my latest book selection entitled The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking. A book detailing how the fine people of Denmark survive the dark and long winters. The book is a quick read, but I must admit I am looking forward to wearing a thick woolen sweater and eating a hot bowl of chili! Here are a few things I learned this week.

1. There are some things you can’t change like the coming of fall and people.

2. There is no one right way to accomplish any one thing. Live your best version of you.

3. Simplicity is always better than complexity. Not as sexy, but better.

4. If you choose to live with cats, you must learn to live with cat hair on your sweater.

5. Be patient. Do something you love. Learn to do it well.

I would love to hear what lessons you have learned this week. Leave a comment below.
